The ‘little brother’ version of Shetland Boat Week proved popular with local and visiting boat enthusiasts in August, with over 120 people out on the water in traditional boats.
Organising the event on a short timescale was an exciting challenge. The enthusiasm and dedication of the community and staff from Shetland Amenity Trust ensured we were able to deliver another impressive display of traditional boats on Hay’s Dock and a programme of land based events for all to enjoy.
This is the third Boat Week event I have co-ordinated and I will be working with the Shetland Amenity Trust to begin planning a full itinerary for Shetland Boat Week in August 2019.
